Orange First Aid Training is excited to launch our Level 1 Sports Trainers Course.

Being a Sports Trainer is much more than just taping athletes and attending to injuries on game day.  The role of Sports Trainers has evolved over time and is more important than ever. This course covers essential knowledge and practical skills necessary for effective athlete preparation and management, sports injury management, including sports taping techniques and the correct methods for transporting injured athletes.

This course is pitched at a range of people, not just Sports Trainers;

Successful participants will receive a nationally recognised certificate as a Level 1 Sports Trainer. This qualification is considered the minimum standard required to complete the duties of a Sports Trainer in most sports and is recognised across all major Australian sporting codes.

Course Delivery

This course can be delivered at your workplace or club, or at one of our public courses at our training centre

Course Duration

Online with face-to-face assessment – Face to Face contact time of at least 2 Hours

Entry Requirements

An individual enrolling in this course with Allens Training Pty Ltd must demonstrate the following criteria to be eligible for entry:

    The unit requires foundational skills such as reading, oral communication, numeracy, problem-solving, and self-management.  

    Physical capability to be able to meet the demands of practical demonstration skills

    Wearing appropriate attire to allow demonstration of different taping techniques

Online study:  Students must have access to a computer, smartphone, tablet or other electronic devices with access to the internet to complete the online/ pre-course studies.

Assessment Requirements

Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment tasks.

Certificate Renewal Requirements

This certificate has an industry recommended renewal period of 36 months

Assessment Activities

Performance tasks and practical scenarios:

  • Planning and preparing a participant for sport competition
  • Supporting a participant in a sport competition
  • Reflecting on preparing participant for a sport competition
  • Implement sport injury prevention and management strategies for injuries, illness, and medical condition
  • Sports taping

Theory assessment: A written assessment consisting of multiple-choice and short answer questions.
